Sayin’ goodbye to Miss Peanut Butter Pie! Okotoks Family Photography

I met Theresa one fine day on the Facebook Okotoks Mamas group. She invited anyone and everyone to come over for an innocent piece of peanut butter pie, and the rest is history. We quickly became good friends and I thoroughly enjoyed my time spent with her and her adorable little guy Bodhi Lando Hermanos Fantasticus Gerritsen. Say that in one breath;) To make a sad story short, they’re moving to Bermuda:( I’m not the only one who will miss her though, she made some good friends in town and anyone that knows her is sad to see her go. I wish them the best of luck in the universe! Thank-you for coming into my life Gerritsen’s! Here’s this cute little family I’ve been referring to:

The second Drayton session I did was this beautiful family of five. I just love their clothes! All of the families I photographed in Drayton had great clothing. Seriously, nice work on the wardrobe style everyone;) Here’s another sneak peek for the blog, can you believe these were taken right behind their house? Lucky family!

My status on Facebook was that this session was truly amazing. The family was beautiful and loving, the baby didn’t make a peep, and we put him through everything possible. The 2 yr old was an absolute darling with big beautiful blue eyes. Busy. But so cute! Here I leave you to a quick sneak peek. Thanks for the amazing session Courtney and Andrew!

For those of you contemplating doing a mini session on Sept. 17th, spots are filling up quickly, and there are only a few spaces left. I’m hoping to do the mini sessions at this same location shown in this post. It is probably one of my favorite places I’ve ever shot at! So versatile! Thank-you to all of the very nice people who stopped in at my booth today at the Market Square. I thoroughly enjoyed myself today! I’m feeling the high:) And a very special thank-you to H + G for letting me use your property this evening and in the future as well.

I have to tell ya, there’s nothing sweeter than a newborn. I’m so in love again, and not to mention he’s so darn cute and chubby! He was born March 31, 2011 in the morning, and we named him Quinn Zane Hutchinson. He weighed 9 pounds 5 ounces, and 21 inches long. There’s a bit of a story behind all of our kids names, so I’ll write about Quinn’s today. We were planning on giving him no middle name because all of our kids middle names are after each of our parents ie. Ryker Jock, Eric Robert, Vaughn Patrick (after Glen’s mom Patricia). Which leaves my mom’s name Jane, which is tricky to work with for yet another boy. We had tossed around the name Zane for Quinn’s first name, but we just weren’t quite settled. The plan was to give him no middle name in honour of my mom, because she has no middle name, but while we were filling out the papers, I asked Glen if he was good with that, and he said it was fine with it but asked if he should flip a coin, so he did. The outcome of the toss was that he should have no middle name. That didn’t seem right to either of us so we both agreed on Zane and besides we sort of thought of ourselves as “in-zane” for having a fourth kid. My eldest brother had his first baby before Quinn was born and named her Natalie Jane, which I think my mom was ever so pleased with and so was I to be quite honest. Here are some newborn pictures of Quinn when he was four days new;)

Okotoks Photographer: One Last Drayton Valley Family Sneak Peek.

I’ve been getting tons of inquiries from Drayton Valley folk, but the bad news is that I’ve moved to Okotoks. Good news is we are really enjoying it, settling in nicely and we have some super exciting news to share ourselves that we are expecting our fourth baby in April. Which means I won’t be traveling to Drayton Valley for any weddings next summer:( I had an absolute blast shooting this session with the Musiyowski family which is actually a lot easier to spell than I thought (just like it sounds;) And not to mention how honored I was to have Andrea of Soul Abstract Photography from Drayton ask me to photograph her family. It’s funny because even I find myself reminiscing about the sessions while proofing them. What beautiful people I get to photograph. I truly love it!

Even though this is my last family session from Drayton this year, I still hope to get some more pictures up from the Cathrea’s session, so many to share so little time.

You can only imagine what fun it was to hang out with these kiddos. They had so many stories for me, and I loved hearing about everything! What a difference it is from 3 girls to 3 boys. I can’t even imagine what their household is like. Here are some of the images captured at the session that was given to them as a gift when their home burnt down. Thanks for having me to your new beautiful home and giving me the grand tour Beckett’s! Hope you love the pictures as much as I do!

Perserverance is the key! (Okotoks Photographer)

This session was a test of perseverance. The forecast said rain, the people said no rain, it rained on the way out to the session, then stopped raining for about a half an hour, then some pretty mean storm clouds came our way but we just got drizzled on. Meanwhile, people in Drayton got hailed on pretty bad. So we were lucky and took a break during the short stint of rain and got back to work because this family traveled from Edmonton to their cute little cabin in the wilderness. I can tell that the children absolutely adore going out there because they allowed me to spend about 2 and a half hours with them. We got many more fun ones, but I thought I’d leave those for surprise for Christmas cards etc;)
